Chapter 462: Extreme North Icefield

Li Wei walked out of the room, with Alice following behind him.

She rubbed her neck, looking at Li Wei’s back. "What did you say to her?" she asked. "Why wouldn’t she let me listen?"

Li Wei glanced back at Alice and replied, "Nothing much. Just some private matters concerning me."

Alice blinked at Li Wei. "Is that so?"

She didn’t believe for a second that the Hundred Flowers God and Li Wei would discuss his private affairs during their very first meeting.

Their relationship wasn’t that close yet.

But since Li Wei had put it that way, Alice decided not to press the issue.

Alice looked at Li Wei and asked, "Are you leaving?"

Li Wei gazed at the distant sky. "Yeah," he said. "I can’t stay any longer. If I do, I’m afraid my enemies will show up."

"Enemies?" Alice looked confused.

She looked at Li Wei, her eyes filled with a gaze as firm as tempered steel, and said with the utmost seriousness, "Who are they? I’ll help you."

Hearing this, Li Wei just smiled and shook his head. "There’s no need. They’re an existence that neither of us can fight."

"Don’t worry. I’ll be back one day."

"I’m leaving now. Take care."

With that, Li Wei transformed into a streak of crimson light and shot toward the sky.

Alice waved goodbye to Li Wei, shouting, "Farewell! Have a safe journey!"

Li Wei had told her that after leaving Flying Flower City, he was heading to the Extreme North Icefield.

It was a place far from the Human World, where traces of humanity were almost never seen.

Even the Beastman Race, who lived in the desolate parts of the Northern Territory, rarely set foot in the Extreme North Icefield.

The temperature there was a perennial forty to fifty degrees below zero. Even the naturally robust Beastmen could hardly withstand the low temperatures of the Extreme North Icefield.

Alice didn’t understand why Li Wei would go to such a harsh environment.

The harshness of the Extreme North Icefield was no less than that of the Poison Dragon Cave.

For the vast majority of living creatures, it was a deathtrap, a Death Forbidden Zone.

However, with Li Wei’s power, he should be able to survive in the Extreme North Icefield, as long as he didn’t run into any unexpected trouble.

As Li Wei left Flying Flower City and rushed toward the Extreme North Icefield, several fully armed Saint Knights appeared in Maple City.

As the Saint Knights walked the streets of Maple City, the crowds on both sides parted and fell silent, not even daring to look up at the intimidating figures.

Everyone was terrified and uneasy. What could have happened to draw the Saint Knights of the Light Divine Sect to such a remote place?

The lead Saint Knight glanced at the Fate Pendulum in his hand.

He headed out of the city.

The Fate Pendulum had already locked onto Li Wei’s position.

The four Saint Knights had come to bring Li Wei back to the Saint Hall of Light.

Each of the Saint Knights was at the Half-Step Legendary Level, and their leader had already entered the Legendary Realm.

This lineup was undeniably powerful.

The Light Divine Sect was clearly placing immense importance on Li Wei.

This was mainly because when Minos was pursuing Li Wei, he had been obstructed by a Legendary Witch Lich.

Therefore, to avoid another encounter with the Legendary Witch Lich, the Light Divine Sect had sent such a powerful team to capture Li Wei.

Otherwise, the mere status of being the first-place Mage in the exchange tournament between five top Mage Towers would not have been enough for the Light Divine Sect to dispatch a Legendary Paladin.

A Legendary Paladin and three Half-step Legendary Saint Knights, working together, could even take on a Legendary Witch Lich.

Minos, a Cardinal, had only left the Saint Hall of Light to pursue Li Wei because he received an order from the Saintess while he was searching for the Holy Artifact, "Goddess’s Tears."

At that time, he still couldn’t be certain who had Goddess’s Tears.

The Saintess’s order was simply to bring back the "Li Wei" who might possess Goddess’s Tears.

Now, it was clear that Li Wei had obtained Goddess’s Tears and had already destroyed it.

There was no longer a need for a Cardinal like Minos to act personally.

And without a direct order from the Saintess, it wasn’t a Cardinal’s place to act personally anyway.

After leaving Maple City, the four Saint Knights immediately summoned their Holy Unicorn mounts, which had snow-white wings, and sped off in Li Wei’s direction.

The Holy Unicorns galloped along the ground before flapping their wings and soaring into the sky, transforming into four streaks of golden light that flew swiftly toward the horizon.

"Hm? He’s turned."

The lead Saint Knight saw the needle of the Fate Pendulum in his hand shift toward the northwest.

Without exchanging a word, the four changed direction and continued their pursuit of Li Wei.

WHOOSH! WHOOSH! WHOOSH!

Li Wei cast his Fire Escape Technique, streaking across the sky like a meteor.

People on the ground saw the fiery light crossing the sky and, thinking it was a shooting star, instinctively bowed their heads to make a wish.

After making their wish, they looked up to see four more golden meteors appear on the horizon.

Li Wei sensed something behind him.

He looked back and saw four flashing stars on the horizon.

Li Wei found it strange. ’What are those?’

He subconsciously slowed down.

After Li Wei decelerated, the Saint Knights behind him closed in rapidly. When he saw the "stars" quickly growing larger, his expression changed slightly. He realized they weren’t stars at all, but people chasing him.

Li Wei narrowed his eyes, trying to identify them from any available clues.

Unfortunately, they were too far away. Even as the distance between them rapidly closed, Li Wei still couldn’t make out what the four flashing specks were.

But they definitely weren’t anything good.

And Li Wei had no intention of being caught.

’At this speed, they’re clearly hostile.’

After making this judgment, Li Wei immediately accelerated.

BOOM!

The flames around Li Wei erupted violently, and his speed instantly increased.

Perhaps sensing that Li Wei was accelerating to escape, the four Saint Knights also began to use their true abilities.

"Flying Protection!"

"Extreme Speed Aura!"

"Holy Charge!"

VMMMM! VMMMM! VMMMM!

The Extreme Speed Aura unfurled, and a dense, holy aura emanated from the four Holy Unicorns as their speed surged.

The Holy Unicorns galloped with all their might, their four hooves seeming to tread on air as they accelerated, moving faster and faster.

Li Wei vaguely sensed the pressure building behind him.

His gaze hardened. Disregarding the cost, he used an even more powerful acceleration ability.

BOOM!

The flames around Li Wei turned blue. Nine blue rings of fire erupted from his back, launching him forward several hundred meters in an instant.

His speed had already surpassed Mach 9.

And it was now approaching Mach 10.

He could no longer worry about the risk of losing control if he accelerated further.

The enemies behind him wouldn’t give him that chance.

Speeding across the desolate Northern Land, Li Wei saw a few low-built Beastman Race cities.

When the Beastmen spotted Li Wei flying past in the sky, they tried to attack him.

But before the Beastman Archers and catapult operators could launch their attack, Li Wei had already flown out of their range of sight.

After flying past an unknown number of cities, Li Wei’s Mana was already more than half depleted.

Finally, a snow-white line appeared on the horizon before him.

It was the Extreme North Icefield, his destination.

Li Wei didn’t slow down. Instead, he accelerated again, plunging headfirst into the Extreme North Icefield—a veritable land of death.
