Chapter 468: Wanted Order

SLAP! SLAP! SLAP!

After failing to poison and knock out Li Wei, the three prepared to knock him out by force and take him away.

They had assumed that in a close-quarters fight, a Mage wouldn’t be able to use his abilities and would be easily defeated by them.

But to their surprise, Li Wei stunned all three of them, one slap for each.

The three lay on the ground, their cheeks bright red, staring dumbfoundedly at Li Wei.

’Is he a fucking Mage?’

His strength was more terrifying than a Snowfield yak’s.

The three felt like their brains were about to be scrambled.

Li Wei flexed his right hand. He felt that slapping people was much more satisfying than blasting them with Magic.

The visceral satisfaction of flesh-on-flesh impact was a feeling Magic couldn’t replicate.

Li Wei pulled over a chair, sat down to face the three men, and scanned their faces.

Sensing his stare, the three all averted their gazes, not daring to meet his eyes.

The three realized they had picked a fight with the wrong person and were in way over their heads.

This person was far more terrifying than they had imagined.

Li Wei’s gaze fell upon the man in the middle. "Speak," he said in a low voice. "Who sent you to find me? What was your objective?"

Under Li Wei’s intense pressure, the man felt his bladder threatening to give way.

Fighting the urge, he hastily replied, "Our boss told us to find you. He just said to bring you back, but he didn’t say why."

Li Wei stared at him for several seconds. The man’s gaze trembled violently, and it looked as if he was about to break.

Li Wei shifted his gaze to the other two.

Soon, Li Wei had a clear picture of the situation.

The three were just small fries, responsible for carrying out orders, and were clueless about their "boss’s" true objective.

One of them provided a slightly more valuable clue.

It seemed the reason their boss was looking for Li Wei had to do with several people who had recently arrived in Ice and Snow City.

After arriving in Ice and Snow City, those people had gone straight to see its ruler, the Ice Queen.

After that, their boss seemed to receive an order from the Ice Queen to search for outsiders everywhere.

Li Wei thought for a long time and guessed at a few possibilities.

But he wouldn’t know the truth until he met the three grunts’ boss.

Li Wei looked at the three men and asked, "Do you have the antidote?"

One of them quickly shook his head and said, "No. The boss only gave us the poison, no antidote."

Li Wei glanced at the unconscious Xiong Er. Through his Spiritual Perception, he could tell the man’s vital signs were stable.

The poison’s only effect was unconsciousness.

It had no other side effects.

He didn’t have to worry about Xiong Er dying from the poison, then.

Still, leaving the unconscious Xiong Er here wasn’t a good solution.

So, Li Wei found a room for rent, put Xiong Er inside, and left his Shadow Attendant to watch over him.

Then he took the three men to find their boss.

KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK!

A knock sounded at the door.

"Boss, we’re back."

The person inside had a coarse, booming voice that sounded like thunderous gongs and drums.

"Did you bring the guy back? If you can’t even handle a small task like this, watch out, or I’ll throw you outside to feed the bears."

CREAK.

The door opened, and the man who answered it froze when he saw the situation outside.

"What’s going on? Where is he?" the boss asked, looking in confusion at the four people outside.

Normally, they should have returned carrying someone in a sack.

’Why is there an extra person?’

Li Wei looked at the man before him, a flicker of surprise in his eyes.

The three men’s boss was actually a Half-Beastman.

Unlike Lilia, whose only Half-Beastman feature was a pair of cat ears.

And she had used a special method to hide those after going to the Elemental Tower.

The man before him, however, was covered in exceptionally thick body hair, looking like a black-furred gorilla; his Half-Beastman traits were quite obvious.

The Half-Beastman boss stared at the extra person and demanded, "Who’s this? Why did you bring a stranger with you?"

Li Wei was speechless. ’Did the water in this Half-Beastman’s brain freeze over?’

’His reaction is so slow.’

’Whatever.’ He wasn’t going to wait for the man to catch on.

He walked right in, and the Half-Beastman boss stared in confusion as Li Wei entered the room, looking completely at ease.

’How can this human be so arrogant?’

Li Wei sat down in his chair, and with a wave of his hand, a blue light flashed, and the door automatically closed.

The door shut with a BANG, startling the Half-Beastman boss and making him jump.

The Half-Beastman boss glared at Li Wei and yelled, "That’s my seat! Get out of it!"

One of the thugs next to him quickly whispered, "Boss, he’s the one you’re looking for."

The Half-Beastman boss heard this but didn’t seem to process it for a moment.

He glanced at his underling, then back at Li Wei.

After looking back and forth several times, he finally seemed to get it.

The Half-Beastman boss took two steps back, shook his head, and muttered, "No, that’s not right!"

His underling quickly asked, "Boss, what’s not right?"

The Half-Beastman boss pointed at Li Wei and said, "If it’s him, then why did he walk in here on his own?"

The underling: "..."

Li Wei couldn’t be bothered to listen to this dimwitted Half-Beastman idiot ramble on.

He asked directly, "Why were you looking for me?"

Hearing this, the Half-Beastman boss subconsciously replied, "To curry favor with the great Her Majesty the Ice Queen, of course."

This time he reacted quickly, snorting, "Human, surrender quietly and come with me to see the great Her Majesty the Ice Queen."

Li Wei shook his head and sighed.

"It seems you still don’t understand the situation you’re in."

He extended his right hand, and a translucent blue hand appeared above the Half-Beastman boss’s head.

Li Wei made a gentle pressing motion, and the giant Mage’s Hand slammed down on the Half-Beastman boss, forcing him to his knees. Only by bracing himself with his hands on the floor did he manage to avoid being completely flattened.

The Half-Beastman boss was utterly shocked and terrified.

He wanted to raise his head to look at Li Wei, but the immense pressure made it impossible. He could only lower his head and stare at Li Wei’s shoes.

They weren’t the typical animal-hide shoes common in Ice and Snow City.

In that moment, he finally understood what had happened.

The Half-Beastman boss hastily shouted, "I’ll talk! I’ll tell you everything!"

The words came tumbling out of him like beans from a bamboo tube.

"Her Majesty the Ice Queen said she’s looking for a wanted fugitive from the Light Divine Sect! She told us to pay attention to all outsiders in Ice and Snow City. Anyone who brings the fugitive to Her Majesty the Ice Queen will receive a reward and her favor!"

"The entire Ice and Snow City is looking for you right now."

Li Wei wasn’t surprised to hear this.

He asked, "Who from the Light Divine Sect were the people who went to see the Ice Queen a few days ago?"

Li Wei suspected it was the same group that had been chasing him all this time.

The distance between them during the chase had been too great for him to identify them.

The Half-Beastman boss hastily replied, "Holy Knights. Four great Holy Knights."
